Before You Start: Limit Orders vs Market Orders
Before placing an order, first understand the two most commonly used order types, which will be used in buying and selling below:
Order Type
Meaning
Applicable Scenario
Limit Order
You specify the price, and the order will only execute when the market reaches that price. It may require waiting or may not be executed at all.
Want to buy or sell at your ideal price and are not in a hurry to execute immediately
Market Order
Executes immediately at the best current market price, no price input needed.
Want immediate execution and are not sensitive to small fluctuations in the execution price
Web Platform
After logging into the PerpVia official website, click on "Spot" in the top navigation to enter the trading page. The layout of the entire trading page is shown below:
Web Spot Trading Interface · Functional Areas
(1) Placing Buy / Sell Orders
1. Select the order type: Limit or Market (corresponds to label ① in the above image).
2. For limit orders, enter your desired execution price in the Price field (label ②); no price input is needed for market orders.
3. Enter the amount of the coin to buy/sell in the Quantity field, or drag the slider below to quickly set a proportion (label ③).
4. After confirming everything is correct, click the green "Buy BTC" button to submit (for selling, the button is red and labeled "Sell", label ④).
Switching Between Buy and Sell: Click the "Buy / Sell" tab at the top of the trading panel to switch directions. The buy button is green, and the sell button is red.
(2) Viewing Orders
After placing orders, you can see unfilled orders in the "Open Orders" section at the bottom of the page (label ⑤); switch to "Order History" or "Trade History" to view completed orders.
(3) Canceling Orders
In the "Open Orders" list, find the order you want to cancel and click the "Cancel" button on the right to cancel the unfilled order (label ⑥).
Note: Only unfilled or partially filled limit orders can be canceled. Fully filled orders cannot be canceled. After cancellation, the frozen funds will be immediately returned to your account.
App Mobile
Open the PerpVia App and tap "Trade" in the bottom navigation to enter the spot trading page. The order placement and order management interfaces are shown below:

Web and App Operations Are Consistent: The order placement logic on both platforms is exactly the same — select direction, select type, enter price and quantity, submit. The only difference is in interface layout: Web shows all information on one screen, while App switches by pages.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long does it take for an order to execute? Market orders usually execute immediately; limit orders will only execute when the market price reaches your set price, so it may take some time.
Q: Why has my limit order not executed? This means the market price has not yet reached your set order price. You can wait patiently or cancel the order and place a new one at the current market price.
Q: How long does it take for funds to be returned after canceling an order? Once the cancellation is successful, the previously frozen funds will be immediately returned to your available balance.
