At PerpVia, we take cybersecurity very seriously. To protect your PerpVia account, our security team has prepared a list of recommendations on how to enhance your account security.
1. Set a Strong Password and Change It Regularly
The essential first step to protect your PerpVia account is to set a strong password. The password should be complex and unique, with a minimum length of 8 characters. It should also include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
It is best not to include your name, email username, birthday, phone number, or other information that is easily accessible to others.
You can further enhance your account security by changing your password regularly, and each new password should be completely different from the previous ones. Additionally, never disclose your password to anyone; PerpVia staff will never ask you for your password.
If you need to update your password, you can refer to this article: What to Do If You Forget Your Password?,to reset your password.
2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
When you create a PerpVia account, you need to use at least one form of two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect your account. PerpVia supports three types of two-factor authentication (2FA): SMS 2FA, email 2FA, and Google Authenticator.
We recommend that you at least use Google Authenticator. For more information on how to set up Google Authenticator, you can refer to this article:How to Set Up Google Authenticator?
3. Stay Alert to Phishing
Phishing is a type of cyberattack where malicious actors impersonate well-known entities or companies to deceive people and collect their sensitive information—for example, credit card details, usernames, passwords, and more. Because phishing involves psychological manipulation and relies on human error (rather than hardware or software), it is considered a social engineering attack.
It is recommended to always access PerpVia through saved bookmarks, avoiding manually typing the address each time you log in. If PerpVia’s official website is not added to your bookmarks, please add the following link immediately: https://www.perpvia.com. This simple measure can protect your account from many fraudulent websites.
4. Protect Your Devices
We do not recommend installing unnecessary software or software from untrusted developers on your devices. Remove apps or browser extensions that you do not need, and only install applications and devices necessary to access sensitive information.
Whenever possible, consider using dedicated devices or partitions for PerpVia and trading. You can also keep your devices secure by keeping them updated. If your browser, operating system, and applications are outdated, your device will be more vulnerable to security issues.
5. Secure Your Internet Connection
Whenever possible, use a wired network. If you must use a wireless network, especially a public network, consider using a virtual private network (VPN).
Others on the same network may be able to view data sent through your device, resulting in security vulnerabilities. A VPN can reroute your internet traffic through its network servers to encrypt it, so no one—including the network owner—can spy on your data.
