To help you accurately understand the calculation times for transaction records, profit and loss statistics, and funding fees, this article explains the unified time standard used by the PerpVia platform and the various settlement cycles. The following time points are general template examples; please refer to the platform’s actual published rules.
Platform Unified Time Zone
The PerpVia platform backend uniformly uses Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) as the standard time. All transaction records, order execution times, settlement times, and system logs are recorded based on UTC to ensure that users worldwide see a consistent and unambiguous time standard.
Some of the times you view in your personal account may be converted to your local time zone based on your settings, but the underlying settlement and statistical logic always follows UTC. It is recommended that when verifying transactions or fund records, you pay attention to the time zone indicated (such as UTC or UTC+8) to avoid misunderstandings caused by time zone differences.
Funding Rate Settlement Times
Funding rates for perpetual contracts are settled on a fixed cycle, typically every 8 hours, with settlement times at UTC 00:00, 08:00, and 16:00 (which corresponds to 08:00, 16:00, and 24:00 in UTC+8).
Please note that funding fees are only charged or paid between users holding positions at the settlement moments. If you close your position before the settlement time, no funding fee will be incurred for that cycle. Whether you pay or receive funding depends on your position direction and the sign of the funding rate; the specific rate is displayed in real time on the contract page.
Calendar Day Switch and Daily Profit and Loss Statistics
The platform’s "calendar day" switches at UTC 00:00. Daily profit and loss statistics, daily trading summaries, some event settlements, and report data all use this as the day cutoff time.
For example, when the UTC time passes 00:00, the profit and loss data for the previous calendar day is settled and archived, and statistics for the new day begin immediately. If your time zone is UTC+8, the corresponding day cutoff time is 08:00 local time. When viewing daily reports, please convert accordingly to accurately match the statistical period.
K-Line Time and Local Time Zone Display
PerpVia’s K-line charts support time zone switching. You can choose to display the chart in UTC or switch to your local time zone in the chart settings for a more intuitive comparison between market trends and your own trading times.
It should be noted that switching the K-line time zone only affects the visual display of the chart and does not change the underlying execution, settlement, and statistical times. Regardless of the time zone shown on the K-line, funding rate settlements and daily profit and loss statistics are strictly carried out according to the UTC standard.
